On the northern coast of Papua New Guinea lies the East Sepik province, a region covering over 43,000 square kilometres. It boasts breathtaking mountain ranges, one of the world’s largest river systems, and renowned vanilla bean farms that produce some of the finest beans globally.
Sepik Valley Organic Vanilla, operated by Jack Gill, packages and exports vanilla from this majestic region to the rest of the world. In September, Sepik Valley Organic Vanilla joined eight other Pacific businesses at PTI Australia’s Pacific Showcase stand at Fine Food Australia, presenting their product to key players in the Food, Hospitality, and Retail sectors of Australia.
With a Brisbane-based distributor already in place, Sepik Valley Organic Vanilla is continuing to explore additional opportunities to grow their footprint in the Australian market.
Gill shared his thoughts on the event, highlighting the strong interest from attendees.
“The show has been very good. It’s been very well attended, we’ve had some very positive meetings with people who have come to our stand, and we are generally very satisfied.”
He is optimistic about the company’s ability to thrive in Australia, citing both their innovative approach and market positioning.
“There doesn’t seem to be much competition for the product we intend to offer. Additionally, as we will be distributing directly, we believe that our pricing will be significantly lower than the competition.”
