Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) Australia’s Pacific Showcase at Fine Food Australia results in a new partnership between Pacific organic vanilla and Australia artisanal chocolate.

Last month, Niue Vanilla joined Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) Australia’s Pacific Showcase at Fine Food Australia, the Southern Hemisphere’s leading trade exhibition for the food retail, distribution and hospitality sectors. Along with 13 other Pacific businesses, Niue Vanilla displayed and promoted their products across the four-day expo, connecting with Australian food retailers, distributors and hospitality businesses.

The same steady approach underpins the long-running partnership between PTI Australia and Niue Vanilla International. Founder, Stanley Kalauni, first joined PTI’s Pacific Showcase delegation at Fine Food Australia more than a decade ago. Since then, PTI Australia has worked alongside Stanley to strengthen Niue Vanilla’s market readiness - supporting participation in international trade shows, refining branding and packaging, and building connections with buyers.

Through perseverance and a commitment to continuous improvement, Niue Vanilla has evolved from a small family venture into a well-recognised exporter with a diverse range of high-quality products. Today, Niue Vanilla’s continued presence at Fine Food Australia stands as testament to what long-term support, exposure and determination can achieve for Pacific businesses.

As a result of that activity, Niue Vanilla was introduced to South Pacific Cacao, a Sydney-based boutique chocolate factory and online retail store, dedicated to supporting farming communities across the Blue Pacific through the production of award-winning chocolate products. South Pacific Cocao is also committed to establishing robust Pacific supply chains into Australia, New Zealand and the competitive European craft chocolate market.

At the conclusion of Fine Food Australia, PTI Australia facilitated a deal between the two parties, with South Pacific Cacao purchasing Niue Vanilla’s vanilla beans to use in their chocolate and value-added products sold through their online store. Niue Vanilla is distinct in the market as its vanilla beans are organically grown and cured naturally, with the business  100% owned and operated locally. Along with cultivating premium pods, the company makes and exports gourmet vanilla extract, paste and powder.

Stanley Kalauni, CEO and Managing Director of Niue Vanilla, said PTI Australia’s support has been instrumental in securing international partnerships.

“PTI Australia’s support at events like Fine Food Australia is incredibly valuable for Pacific businesses because it provides access to a large and competitive international market. By helping showcase Pacific products on a professional platform, PTI Australia gives these businesses visibility, credibility, and connections to lucrative global markets.”

“They also offer essential logistical and promotional support, allowing Pacific exporters to focus on their journey and building relationships with potential buyers. This kind of support not only boosts individual businesses, but also promotes the broader Pacific brand and opens doors to future trade and investment opportunities.”
