PTI New Zealand was proud to support the opening of the Vanuatu Arts & Craft Show at the Auckland Museum shop on Monday 8 May.
The exhibition 9-21 May features Vanuatu craft arts never seen before in New Zealand, and was inspired by Chris Delany, the Vanuatu Skills Partnership and Vanuatu Department of Industry.
Some of the niVanuatu artists who produced the work were there at the opening event:
• Christina Sirig - President Vetimboso Craft Association, weaver - Vetimboso Village, Vanualava - weaver (brown long shopping baskets etc)
• Jonaston Manar (Christina's husband) - Vetimboso Village. (Weaver and carver)
• Patricia Mataru - Malampa Handicraft Centre, Malekula - pandanus weaver.
