A diverse range of businesses and sectors were included in the SHE LEADS interviews. From beekeeping to engineering – and, in the extraordinary story of Luna-Rossa Lomitusi of Samoa, both! – Pacific Island countries involved in the project included New Caledonia, Cook Islands, Tonga and Samoa.
Working with chambers of commerce and women’s business associations in country, the SHE LEADS project celebrates women as business leaders, to amplify their stories, their endurance, their voices and their social, cultural and economic footprint. SHE LEADS serves as an inspiration for women entrepreneurs and NGO leaders everywhere.
The project has rendered a vault of good promotional material for social media, print media and online. They include short reels with subtitles, so they can be played without sound as conference or foyer backdrops, or for viewing on mobile devices in crowded situations. The videos will also be distributed via online video channels such as Vimeo and YouTube, through the PTI website and social media platforms, and other social media pages throughout the Pacific. Even more snappy reels for Instagram and TikTok will also be part of the SHE LEADS rollout package.

The SHE LEADS film crew comprised Alex Stone, Marketing & Communications Manager, PTI NZ; and Mike Bhana of Wild Film. They were ably supported by in-country organisers – Nicolas Job (New Caledonia), Jo Holley (Cook Islands), Sia Afemui ‘Uhila (Tonga) and John Lemoa (Samoa).
SHE LEADS will be supported by an advertising campaign in print and online media, informing of the project’s launch and rollout of the videos,
By way of thanks to the women who were interviewed, they will also be gifted their own videos to add to their websites or online marketing.
A total of 45 individual interviews will be rolled out – three per week – until Christmas 2024, in a medley of different countries and business sectors.
