Pacific Trade Invest China recently supported and assisted Fijian skincare company Essence Group Fiji to successfully register the trademark for its popular brand, Nama Fiji, in both Hong Kong and Singapore.
With the trademark now secured, Nama Fiji’s distributors are implementing their marketing plans to launch and promote the brand in these respective markets.
Debra Sadranu, Managing Director of Essence Group Fiji, highlighted the benefits of trademark registration for Nama Fiji.
“The successful trademark registration lays the foundation for Nama Fiji’s strategic expansion into the Asia market and provides brand protection for its positive development.”
At the same time, as part of Nama Fiji's strategic plan for future brand development, the successful registrations in the Hong Kong and Singapore markets will greatly pave the way for a potential breakthrough in mainland China market.
Yolanda Jiang, PTI China Head of Exports, highlighted the potential for Pacific brands to thrive in the Asia market.
“This is a milestone achieved by a Pacific business, not just in terms of protecting the brand but also enhancing its visibility. When a brand receives official recognition for its quality and commitment, it builds trust with consumers. A brand like Nama Fiji focuses on ‘natural and sustainable’, which aligns perfectly with the growing trend for these qualities in mainland China, sparking more discussions and trade opportunities for the brand.”
Looking ahead to 2024, PTI China remains committed to promoting Pacific Island skincare brands. The upcoming COSMOPROF trade event in Hong Kong in November is known as a leading B2B event in the Asia-Pacific beauty industry, and will be one of PTI China’s key events this year in its export exhibition plans.
“We aim to use high-valued exhibition platforms such as COSMOPROF to convey Nama Fiji’s unique and innovative product, and commitment to sustainability, for collaboration and business opportunities with key importers in the Asia market. This will also serve as a foundation to increase exposure of the Nama Fiji brand,” said Yolanda.
