PACIFIC LABOUR SCHEME
To support the growth of rural and regional Australia, in July 2018 the Australian Government launched the Pacific Labour Scheme (PLS).
An initiative that aims to fill labour gaps in rural and regional Australia. The PLS connects low and semi-skilled workers from Pacific Countries with Australian businesses that are experiencing labour shortages.
PTI Australia works in partnership with the Pacific Labour Facility to connect eligible Australian employers across Australia’s fast-growing and high demand industries including hospitality and tourism, aged and disability care, non-seasonal agriculture, forestry and fishing industries to the PLS.
The PLS enables works from Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, PNG, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu to work in rural and regional Australia for a minimum of 12 months and up to three years.
